SATCo’s Response to Covid-19. Updated November 30th, 2020.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we here at SATCo are making some changes so that we can continue creating student-produced and student-oriented theatre in the safest way we can. With this in mind, following the guidance of the University of Victoria’s COVID-19 Response Protocols, we are producing a season of online shows this semester.
The Student Alternative Theatre Company (SATCo) is a student driven theatre company that works to reinforce the teachings of the University of Victoria Theatre Department, assist in the development of new work, and provide quality opportunities to emerging artists while upholding a strong artistic vision.
The main principle of SATCo is to provide opportunities for students to use the skills they are learning during their degrees. Many students rely on SATCo to get experience in areas such as directing, stage management, design and acting. Since SATCo is a learning environment, it’s a great way to get practical experience in a safe and supportive, yet professional environment.
